Missions
The missions of the Academic Center are defined in article 53 of the landscape decree defining the landscape of higher education and the academic organization of studies.
Here is an extract from the decree highlighting the missions of the Pole:
An Academic Hub is a forum for consultation and dialogue between higher education institutions. Its primary mission is to promote and support all forms of collaboration between its members and to encourage them to work together to provide quality services to students.
Thus, without encroaching on the missions of ARES and the academic zones, an academic center:
- promotes and supports the mobility of students and staff members , while respecting their status and on a voluntary basis, between the different locations and establishments, including practical and financial arrangements;
- provides collective services for the staff and students of its members , including libraries and study rooms, restaurants and convivial places, medical, social and psychological support services, sports and cultural activities, and can manage the associated income and expenditure;
- brings together or organizes advice and support for personalized study paths , as well as educational support for teachers;
- coordinates the information and guidance of future students about the various studies organized and the representation of its members during any information activity on higher education or in relation to compulsory education;
- coordinates preparatory training for higher education and any other activity likely to facilitate the transition between compulsory education and higher education;
- promotes relations between all its members establishments , their staff and their students with local stakeholders, both public and private;
- encourage the creation at its level of federated disciplinary centers for research, teaching or service , bringing together the skills and teams of the member establishments of the Pole;
- encourages shared use of infrastructure , equipment and movable or immovable property intended primarily for teaching, research and community service missions;
- and, more generally, is the privileged place for dialogue and reflection among its members.
